Israel, 04, July 2012: A novel Konkani news portal (http://konkaninews.com) was launched here at the riverbank of Jordan river today. This news website, with its motto of `for the people and amid the people’ dreams to serve the Konkani fraternity, who are away from their motherland and yearn for their mother tongue.

 

 

 

 Speaking on the occasion, CEO of Bangalore Live News Network Lenard Fernandes explained the importance of Konkani news portals in the modern day. The portal is made in such a way that it helps Konkani people living at different places of the world to read news in their Mother tongue. It is necessary to love mother tongue without hating other languages, he added.

The Konkani news portal would be publishing news regularly in Konkani language and Mr Jaison Soares Taccode, who has been in the media industry since many years, would be the editor.

Chief guest of the occasion Vincent Lobo expressed his happiness over the launch of the news portal. He said that this site was `a dream come true’ for the Konkani fraternity whose desire was to read Konkani news online. He also requested the Konkani fraternity to support this initiative. Ivan Kanthavara was the anchor of the programme.
