Jeddah, August 26: The Jamiyyatul Falah Jeddah, a frontline NGO comprising the citizens of Udupi and Mangalore, hosted its annual Iftar at Jeddah, KSA on Aug 20. Over 500 people and their families attended the programme.
Maulana Kaleem Siddiqui Nadwa, the famous scholar, was the chief guest of the programme. He expressed his Ramadan wishes to everybody and urged people to cooperate with the Jamiyyatul Falah and work for the welfare of the community.
Br. Ayub Zinjani Saheb, the correspondent of the BBC World Urdu Service, introduced the chief guest to the gathering. Dr. Mohammed Iqbal Yusuf, the founder of Jamiyyatul Falah, gave a brief introduction to the organization. He said that the Jamiyyatul Falah has a community development centre in Mangalore and is running several schools and community welfare programmes.
Br. Habeeb Rahman, the president of the Jamiyyatul Falah, gave the welcome speech and presented Ramadan greetings. He also called upon the members of the community to work for the educational and social welfare of the poor Muslims of Coastal Karnataka.
Br. Mohammed Mansoor was the comperer; and Vice President Br. Mohammed Arif proposed the vote of thanks. The programme was sponsored by Br. Mohammed Aslam Kazi of Basem International Shipping and Logistics Co. of Jeddah.
A large number of special invitees, life members of FJ, and patrons attended this programme, which ended with a delicious dinner.
