Qatar, April 3: The Karnataka Muslim Cultural Association (KMCA), a body registered under the Indian Cultural Center (ICC), hosted a blood donation drive on April 1, Friday at Hamad Medical Corporation (HMC) in Qatar.
The event started at 8:00 in the morning and continued well up to 11:30 a.m., and over 200 people donated blood at the event. Forty of them were women.
Dr. Mohammed Parvez of Mangalore spoke about the importance of donating blood. Mr. Saquib Raza Khan, the president of KMCA, delivered the welcome address, and the vice president of KMCA proposed the vote of thanks.
Mr. M. R. Qureshi, the first secretary of the Qatar Indian Embassy; Habibul Nabi, the vice president of ICBF; Mrs. Milan Arun, the head of the Affiliations and Councilor Services; and many association leaders and prominent citizens participated in the event.
The managing committee of the KMCA has specially thanked Salim U., the managing partner of Team Engineering Company, for making arrangements for its employees to participate in the event and donate blood.
