Dubai, May 28, 2012 : Karnataka Sangha Dubai will hold a dart competition on June 15 at Ramee Royal Hotel near Makthoum Bridge on June 15 and a dance competition on September 21 for all Kannadigas living in the UAE.
Daya Kirodian, general secretary of the association, said that all Kannadigas in UAE can participate in these competitions and win trophies and cash prizes. The purpose of holding a dance competition is to encourage Kannadigas to give expression to their talents and also unite them under one roof, he added
The dart competition will be held in the following categories—solo category for kids in the age group of 8-14, mixed double category, men solo category, women solo category, and professional category.
The participants will receive free lunch as well as brunch. Those interested in taking part must submit entries before 11:00 a.m. on June 15. The dance competition will be held in the following categories—below 15 category and above 15 category, folk dance category, and professional group dance category. The organizers will permit songs in Tulu, Konkani, Kannada, Kodava, and Beary.
A drawing competition and a fancy dress competition will also be held in the following categories. The drawing competition will be held in the below 8 and 8 – 15 years categories. The theme for the latter category is “Tourist Spots in Karnataka.”
