Karnataka Sangha to organize Silver Jubilee Dance Cup

Dubai, June 02:  Karnataka Sangha will organize Silver Jubilee Dance Cup, a dance competition, as part of its silver jubilee celebrations on July 2 at Elite English School near Century Mall in Dubai at 3 p.m.  

All kannadigas who work in the UAE and all the members of Karnataka-based groups and associations in the UAE are invited to participate in this contest.  

A minimum of 5 and a maximum of 9 dancers are permitted per group. Each group can perform for five minutes and can use songs in Kannada, Konkani, Tulu, Beary, and Kodava for their performances. There is no entry fee.  

The purpose of the contest is to give talented Kannadigas residing in the UAE a chance to showcase their talents. Three groups will be chosen to present their performances at the Grand Rajyotsava Programme 2010.  

Sahil of Radio Mirchi, Mangalore, will compere the event. Famous dancers from Karnataka are expected to attend the programme.
