Virginia, Aug 09, 2014: A team of around 100 children from Virginia are practising Yakshagana with full zest and interest under the guidance of noted Yakshagana artiste Vidya Kolyur of Yaksha Manjusha and her team members. If one team of 45 children will present Ramayana another team will present ‘Sri Krishna Leele Kamsa Vadhe’ sequence in the next few days. Patla Satish Shetty,Padmanabha Upadhya and Devananda Bhatta are assisting as Himmela artiistes.
It is indeed highly appreciative on the part of these popular Tenku Tittu artistes to train the children in Yakshagana at a time when Yakshagana shows are being regularly held back in their home district during the festive season.
It has to be said that Vidya Kolyur has taken a challenging job of training the kids in the art by identifying the capabilities of each child. The children are also being guided by Rakesh Rai, Mohan Bellippady, Prashanth Shetty Nelyady, Harinarayana Edneer and Arun Jarkala.
