Kuwait, 17 June 2010: With great zeal and enthusiasm, the inauguration of Queen of Arabia Konkani Community Ahmadi Kuwait (QAKCA KUWAIT) took place in Our Lady of Arabia Church, Ahmadi on Tuesday 15th of June 2010 at 06.30 pm.

As its inaugural event, QAKCA organized the Feast of St. Antony, the Miracle Saint, which was attended by a large number of devotees.


The evening started with Celebration of Eucharistic Services by Rev. Fr. John Harry D’Souza OFM Capuchin, Asst. Parish Priest of Ahmadi Church. During this Mass, there was a Novena of St. Anthony and special prayers for the sick.


Later in the stage program, Stephen Sequeira, Secretary of QAKCA KUWAIT gave a brief introduction on the QAKCA, explained the motives and future objectives.

Mr. Vally D’Sa and Mrs. Luwiza D’sa (One of the Oldest Mangalorean Couple residing in Kuwait and a great supporter of Konkani) were the Chief Guests for the Ceremony, greeted and blessed all the Office Bearers of QAKCA with flowers. The QAKCA Banner was unveiled by this respectful couple as an official symbol of inauguration of the QAKCA.


Mr. Pascal Pinto, President of QAKCA, narrated the role of QAKCA in Ahmadi Church and also requested the support from whole Community in their future endeavors.


Fr. John Harry D’Souza, the Spiritual Director of QAKCA, thanked the support of Community and asked for everyone’s support in strengthening up the relationship among the families. He also conducted some Spot games and gave away prizes (Holy picture and Prayer to St. Anthony). Fr. D’Souza also thanked great supports of .Konkani Community, specially Vally and Luwisa D’Sa , Mr. Rony and Jasmine D’Cunha, (for their outstanding service in music ministry) Mr. Francis and Jessy D’Souza (for their valued contribution in Prayer Group) and Mr. Godfrey D’Souza (for sponsoring refreshment).


Mrs. Janet Almeida proposed vote of thanks and appreciated everyone’s contribution to this Event, Stephen Sequeira compared the stage program.


While going home, devotees were given bread of St. Antony (sponsored by Joe and Prescilla Pereira) and served refreshments.
