Muscat, August 22, 2015: Bunts Community in Muscat organise a condolence meeting for poet, freedom fighter late Kayyara Kinhanna Rai and Natya guru Master Vittal Shetty at Al Bahja Hall, Jungle Theme Restaurant Al Qurum on August 14th.
Oman’s Bunts patrons and Bunts Oman 2015 organizing committee office bearers inaugurated the meet by lighting the lamp.
Shanker Shetty Kalladi led the condolence meet and spoke about Nadoja Dr Kayyara Kinhanna Rai’s life and achievements and requested all the pro-kannada organisations to make the legend’s dream of adding Kasargod into Karnataka by reviewing the Mahajan report.
Shashidhar Shetty Mallar offered his condolences to Master Vittal Shetty and spoke about his achievements and contribution. Teaching and training hundreds of students in Bharatanatyam tirelessly for about 75 years, he also had introduced Indian classical art abroad. Disciple of dance guru Rajan Aiyar and has been the guru of several dance gurus and Kannada cine star Kalpana. Among the awards won by him are the Rajyotsava Award, Shantala Dance Award. Kalashree Award from the Karnataka Sangeeta Nritya Academy and several titles from the dancing fraternity.
The condolence meet ended with offering of final respects to the legend by the committee members. The venue was provided by Oman chemical Co and event was organized by Bunts Oman 2015 Organizing committee.
