Mangalore, Oct 10: Sangon Mugdana Kalakar, a troupe of young Mangalore-born theatre artistes residing in Dubai, staged “Soglem Divnchem Thanem,” a comedy thriller authored by Pradeep Barboza Paladka in Dubai on Oct 8, Friday at 5 p.m.
Lawrence and Gracy D’Souza of Al Reyan Metallics lit the lamp and inaugurated the event in the presence of Joseph Mathaias of Merit Freight Systems, assistant parish priest of St. Michael’s Church Fr. Rodson, Andrew Aranha, and Edward Barbosa.
Francis Fernandes Cascia, popularly known as “comedy king,” was felicitated by Lawrence and Gracy D’Souza, Joseph Mathaias, and Edward Barboza for his spectacular achievements. The “Manpothr” was read by Vinay Pinto, a member of the Sangon Mugdana Kalakar troupe. Apolin Peris presented it to Mr. Francis Cascia.

Rs. 50,000 was donated to the family of Santhosh Fernandes, who has been paralyzed for the past 16 months. Rs. 25,000 was presented to the family of Naveen Mendonca, who is hospitalized in Rashid Hospital Dubai.
