Dubai, August 12: A South Indian team of experts led by Chairman and Medical Director of Unity Care and Health Services Pvt. Ltd. Dr. Habeeb visited Saudi Arabia and Dubai after the prime minister’s recent visit to the Gulf.
The PM had signed several deals with the Middle East to establish a strategic partnership in areas of security, energy, economics, and defense. As a result, a 12-member team was appointed by the Confederation of Indian Industry (CII) in order to strengthen India’s relationship with the Gulf countries.
CII, a non-profit, non-government, and industry-managed organization, plays a proactive role in the development of India. It strives for the creation and sustenance of an environment friendly to the development of industry in India and has its headquarters in Delhi.
The team of experts led by Dr. Habeeb interacted with experts in Riyadh, Dubai, and Dammam and discussed possibilities of development in the area of industries, infrastructure, and education. It also participated in a one-day “India Business Summit,” inaugurated by Minister of Commerce and Industry, Government of India, Anand Sharma.
Dr. Habeeb presented a paper titled “Role of Service Sectors in India and Middle East,” during which he said that education plays an important role in the country’s service industry. He also said that the potential for service sector in India is high because a large chunk of the country’s population focuses on getting an education. He also spoke of the great potentials of Mangalore in the fields of healthcare and education as well as special economic and petro-chemical industry.
Minister for Higher Education and Scientific Research (UAE) Sheikh Nahyan bin Mubarak al Nahyan and previous president of CII R. Seshasayee also addressed the summit.
