Dubai, July 8: Konkan Yuva, the youth wing of St. Mary’s Konkani Community Dubai has formed new core committee for the sixth year in which   Stephen Nazareth has been elected as the president of Konkan Yuva.

Speaking after the election, Stephen said that ‘he is very excited and thanked all the members for choosing him as the president. He has also appraised the new team elected on the occasion. He said that ‘initially Konkan Yuva was a small organization with less number of members. But now it has over 150 members. Since five years, he has been participating in all the function arranged by the Konkan Yuva. in the past 5 years Konkan Yuva has been instrumental in providing a networking opportunity, harnessed skills, created a knowledge sharing platform to its member” Fr. Freddy D’Souza, Spiritual Director of Konkan Yuva expressed his satisfaction on KY progress and wished luck to the new committee. KY has been the agent of change, every since KY was formed in 2005, it has brought together over 150 youth from the Konkan Belt residing in Dubai under one umbrella, in last five years many qualitative programs have been initiated for the upbringing of its members and the community. He is very optimist about KY’s direction and looking forward for yet another successful year, he added.

The konkan Yuva, which organizes many cultural activities for Konkan region working at Dubai, is the first organization for the youth of Konkan region. After the formation of Konkan Yuva,  it has actively worked in bringing the youth together, organizing various cultural programs. It has organised various training programme to develop the members skills. It has also given financial aid to charitable organizations and weaker section of the society.

D’souza, IPP - Joel Saldanha, Nominated Member  - Prem Oscar Pais, Nominated Member  - Reena Ferenandes.
