Dubai, October 14: The members of the Suratkal Parish, Sacred Heart Church, who are currently working in the USA, held the inaugural meet of their association on Oct 8 at Winny’s Restaurant at Karama in Dubai. The purpose of launching an association is to create a common platform for Suratkal parishioners of UAE to meet and interact, help one another, and assist those in Suratkal.

Roydon Roche delivered a brief introductory message and spoke about the purpose of the meeting. Sunil Lobo delivered the welcome address and spoke about the need for such an association. Each member introduced him/herself and voiced his/her opinions on the aims and objectives of the association and its future developments.


The members unanimously agreed to call their association “Emirates Surathkal Parishioners’ Association” (ESPA). A new working committee was elected with Charles Aranha, Denzil Fernandes, and Godfrey Misquith as advisors, Sunil Pinto as president, Ashok D’Souza as vice president, Roydon Roche as secretary, Jyothi D’Souza as joint secretary, Vineeth Cutinho as treasurer, and Wilson Crasta as organizing secretary. The zonal representatives are Valerian Dalmeida for Abu Dhabi, William Sequeira for Dubai, and Gilbert D’Souza for northern Emirates.


Sunil Pinto proposed the vote of thanks; and Charles Aranha led the group in a concluding prayer.
