Sharjah, Jan 13, 2017: The healthcare division of Thumbay Group has added a new multispecialty hospital, Thumbay Hospital Day Care, to its network of teaching hospitals. Strategically located at the heart of Sharjah in Rolla (behind Rolla Mall), the new hospital will offer treatments and procedures as day-cases, meaning no overnight stay in the hospital is required, and patients can rest and recuperate in their own homes.

The hospital was officially opened on Thursday, 12th January 2017 by the chief guest,His Excellency Marwan J. Al Sarkal – CEO of Shurooq, in the presence of Mr. ThumbayMoideen – Founder President of Thumbay Group, Mr. Akbar MoideenThumbay – Vice President of the Healthcare Division, Mr. AkramMoideenThumbay - Director Operations of the Construction & Renovation Division and other members of Thumbay Group Board.

Thumbay Hospital Day Care is a state-of-the-art multispecialty facility envisioned as a center housing all major specialties under one roof. Fully-equipped laboratory, advanced radiology services with ultrasound and x-ray facility and trained personnel to ensure optimum patient safety and satisfaction are some of the highlights of the hospital. The hospital uses the latest healthcare technology, which combined with excellent post-operative care and effective pain relief enable patients to recover in just a few hours. This also ensures minimal risk of hospital infections. The hospital has a dedicated Anesthesia team as well as operation theatre, and private patient beds for pre-op and post-op care. There are 19 consultation chambers spread on two floors.

Mr. Akbar MoideenThumbay, vice president of the healthcare division of Thumbay Group said that the day-care facility offers minimal waiting times and faster admissions and discharges, in addition to delivering high quality, patient-focused and affordable care. “Accessibility, convenience and efficiency of processes are the key factors that make patient care delivery system unique at Thumbay Hospital Day Care. The hospital has experienced doctors, and the focus is on the quality of clinical outcomes,” he added.

Mr. ThumbayMoideen, founder president of Thumbay Group said that the new hospital was the latest addition to the growing network of Thumbay teaching hospitals. “The Thumbay academic hospital network aims to have a total of 1000 beds in the UAE, 1500 beds in India and 750 beds elsewhere in the Gulf and Africa by 2022,” he added, detailing the healthcare division’s future plans, “The group will have 15 academic hospitals worldwide, by then.”
