Thumbay Hospital Dubai to Launch Breast Cancer Awareness Campaign

Dubai, Jan 4, 2015: Thumbay Hospital, Dubai will launch a Breast Cancer Awareness Campaign in association with RTA’s Dubai Taxi Corporation (DTC), with a unique ‘Pink Ribbon Formation’ by pink taxis of Dubai Taxi Corporation at 9.30am on Monday, 11th Jan. 2016.

The campaign which will be held at Thumbay Hospital, will feature 35 pink taxis, which will form a giant ‘pink ribbon’, to spread awareness on breast cancer. The campaign will be inaugurated jointly by dignitaries from Thumbay Hospital and Dubai Taxi Corporation.

The Breast Cancer Awareness campaign aims to focus special attention on this growing disease among women. There are lots of young sufferers of breast cancer due to unawareness of the importance of having regular breast cancer screening, eliminating chances of its early detection. The result is that many cases of breast cancer are presented to medical professionals at a late or critical stage. The campaign aims to promote regular screening for breast cancer, which makes it easier to detect and prevent.

Each Pink Taxi Lady Driver, who participate as Pink Campaign Ambassadors will be gifted Thumbay Hospital vouchers that entitles them to free benefits such as gynecologist consultation, mammogram, blood sugar, blood pressure and BMI checks and dental consultation, as well as discounts on select dental treatments. They will also be given gift baskets.
