KCWA celebrates Christmas in Kuwait

January 3, 2019 - Kuwait Canara Welfare Association (KCWA) celebrated Nathalanchi Saanz 2018 under the leadership of its President Hilary Stevan Rego on Friday 28th December in Indian Community School Auditorium, Khaitan, Kuwait. KCWA spiritual director Fr. Noel D’Almeida graced the occasion along with sponsors and guests. The programme began with introduction by Compere Walter Santhumayor followed by welcome speech by President Hilary Stevan Rego.









Sponsors of the event were felicitated by Fr. Noel D’Almieda. The merit scholarships and mementos were distributed to members’ children who excelled in the academic year 2017-18. Rajesh Aranha led the proceedings of merit scholarship awards. Fr. Noel delivered the Christmas message to the gathering. KCWA’s website redesigned by Allan D’Souza was launched by Fr. Noel on the occasion.


GVOM Season-6 1st Runner Up Shelton Pinto was felicitated with a memento and flower bouquet. Shelton Pinto and GVOM Season-6 Kuwait finalist Gloria D’Souza entertained the gathering with their melodious songs Painting was auctioned among audience by Anil Fernandes and Naveen Mascarenhas. Allen Pinto & family won the painting auction. The master piece was created by Olivia Jessica Lobo. Lots of spot prizes were awarded during the event.







Prashanth Ferrao and team took the gathering into the world of laughter with their skit. Melodious Christmas carols with the act by Infant Jesus kids choir Salmiya spread the essence of Christmas. Children were excited as the Santa made his entry. Goodies were distributed to the kids. Hamper draw was conducted by Harry Fernandes, Anil Fernandes, Jinella Rodrigues and Michael Pinto with fabulous prizes during the event. Highest hamper sellers were honored with gift vouchers by Fr. Noel and President Stevan Rego. Anil Fernandes and Praveen Menezes conducted the members’ draw for 3 categories that comprised of 2019 renewed members present at the venue, 2019 renewed members present or not at the venue and for Honorary, Patron and Life members. Konkani Maibhas class teachers were felicitated for their selfless service.








Allan D’Souza proposed the vote of thanks and Fr. Noel recited the grace before dinner. Sumptuous dinner was served by Caesars Group of restaurants. Nelson D’Souza captured the whole event with his skills in photography. The backdrop and Santa Photo Booth was done by Godwin Veigas which created a festive ambience. Anand D’Souza of Waves Events & Engineering provided Lights & Sounds and foot tapping music was arranged by DJ Hywel Pinto.The programme was well compered by Walter Santhumayor.
