Dr. Kalyani Gopal, a clinical psychologist and the founder and president of the SAFE Coalition for Human Rights, said in a news release the theme of this year’s conference is enhancing collaboration among those working to bring trafficking to an end, especially among social service agencies and socially conscious business leaders in Illinois.

The highlight of the conference was when Harold D’Souza during his speech stunned the audience with two victims, of Indian origin living in America. Harold believes in saving victims to be a survivor and then thrive. One of the victim’s mother had phoned Harold from India crying to save her daughter as she is planning to commit suicide.

This was a life changing experience for the two victims attending such a forum for the first time. Harold during his presentation recognized, respected, and rewarded these two traumatized victims to stand up and said, we all love you, from today your happy days have started. Harold in his speech, got emotional and told the young lady, you will never ever think of committing suicide.

The best and most amazing character of this survivor-advocate Harold D’Souza is that, he met the lady victim for the first time at the Conference. He has not met her mother in India but has been talking to them on phone on regular basis. It was a challenge for the victims to attend the conference. Immediately after D’Souza’s speech, connecting the victims with the right agencies they had to leave. SAFE 2019 on November 4th, saved, empowered, and protected two victims.

Dr. Kalyani Gopal is an incredible, inspiring, and intelligent lady, says Harold D’Souza.

Harold proudly says he is the Ambassador of ILLEGAL. I: Inspiring, L: Loving, L: Lively, E: Enthusiastic, G: Generous, A: Amazing, L: Liberator. In the United States of America all foreign nationals are nick named as ILLEGAL. Harold has a message; Victims if any perpetrator or community members call you as ILLEGAL. Turn around with a smile, with your chin up, say thank you. Fantastic for seeing the rainbow (illegal is 7 words) shine on my face. Nominated as an Ambassador of ILLEGAL.

Harold D’Souza has come to India for four weeks meeting high profile delegates at U.S. Consulate, symposium organized for public at Mumbai, Hyderabad, Nadiad, Vadodara, Ahmedabad, Gandhinagar, Delhi, Mangalore to name a few.
