Kuwait: KCWA celebrates ‘Nathalanchi Saanz’

Kuwait, Dec 12, 2019:   Kuwait Canara Welfare Association (KCWA) celebrated ‘Nathalanchi Saanz 2019’ on December 6 in Carmel School, Khaitan, Kuwait. The programme began with an opening prayer Hymn sung by Hazel D’Souza. General secretary Deepak Andrade welcomed the gathering.

The merit scholarships and mementos were distributed to members’ children who excelled in the academic year 2018-19. Victoria D’Souza led the proceedings of merit scholarship awards.

Winners (Juniors) of KCWA Talent Competition-2019 performed their dances. Melodious Christmas Carols were sung by Konkani Choir Salmiya (KCS) under the leadership of Kiran Gonsalves and Christmas Tableau performed by Mai Bhas Salmiya students. Kuwait’s famous drama artist Lucy Lobo Aranha and team sailed the gathering into the world of laughter with their skit.

Spiritual director Fr Noel D’Almeida delivered the Christmas message to the gathering. Children were excited as the Santa made his entry. Goodies were distributed to the kids.

Christmas Hamper draw was conducted by Anil Fernandes and Manoj Rego with fabulous prizes during the event. Highest hamper sellers Arun Jossy D’Souza and others were honored with gift vouchers by John Ida D’Silva and president.

Membership affair coordinator Jenilla Rodrigues and Jeneviv D’Souza conducted the members draw for three categories that comprised of 2020 renewed members present at the venue, renewed members present or not at the venue and for honourary, patron and life members.

Painting was auctioned among audience by Manohar Prabhu. Richard and Jacintha Monteiro have won the painting auction. Various spot games conducted for the kids and adults.

President Maria Rinna D’Souza rendered the vote of thanks. Children recited the grace before the meal. KCWA in a very special way would like to thank donors and well-wishers who supported this event with their generous contribution.

Alban D’Souza captured the whole event with his skills in photography. Sumptuous dinner was served by Caesars Group of Restaurants. Anand D’Souza of Waves Events and Engineering provided Lights and Sounds and foot tapping music was arranged by Hywel Pinto. The programme was well compered by Deepak Andrade and supported by Jeneviv D’Souza and Cheryl Furtado. The entire event was coordinated by Harrison Monteiro, Victoria D’Souza, and Deepak Andrade and well supported by KCWA managing and support committee members.
