Kuwait Feb 14: Tulukoota Kuwait Managing Committee had the privilege of meeting the Indian External Affairs Minister SM Krishna on Thursday, February 4, 2010. The Indian External Affairs Minister had arrived to Kuwait on 3rd February 2010 on a two -day visit .
TKK committee members during their meeting briefed the External Affairs Minister on the activities of the Koota, and the efforts dedicated towards preserving the rich heritage and culture of Tulunadua amidst the Tuluvas in Kuwait.
SM Krishna is one of the first politicians from Karnataka to be entrusted with the External Affairs Ministers job. Born on May 1, 1932 in Karnataka, he graduated from Mysore and studied law at the Government college in Bangalore. He pursued higher studies in US. He was elected to Karnataka Assembly in 1962. In 1968 he was elected to the Loksabha. He has since served as Union Minster of State Industry ( 1983-84), Union Minster of State for Finance ( 1984-85) , Speaker on Indian assembly (1989-92). He then became the Chief Minister , and when Congress was defeated in Karnataka, he was made the governor of Maharashtra. He was appointed as Indian Minsiter for External Affairs on 23 May 2009.
