Kuwait, Jan 8: Indian Cultural Society (ICS) presents "Dil Ki Awaaz" with Kavita Krishnamurti (a renowned playback singer) and laughter queen Bharti Singh at Auditorium Kamil Al Rays, American International School near Police Station Maidan Hawally here on Friday January 14 at 7.00 pm sharp.
The Chief Guest for the event will be Ajai Malhotra, ambassador of India and the guest of honour will be prominent personalities from Kuwait.
After hosting memorable events such as " Jashn e Bahara’n" with Talat Aziz & famous poets, "Nazar Ke Samne" with Kumar Sanu, "Taal se Taal" with ALKA Yagnik, "Shaam e Ghalib" with Kader Khan, Shaam e Sangeet, Shaam e Shibani, Suroon- Ki-Shaam, Shaam- e-Ghazal, Geet & Ghazal Nite, Shab- e-Meraj, Jhoomte Sitare & many more. "Dil Ki Awaaz" will be witness of new era & ever green songs by Kavita Krishnamurti (playback singer –Bollywood) & Chetan Rana (TV fame K for Kishor).
First time in Kuwait female comedian & laughter queen Bharti Singh will be on stage to make you laugh with her hilarious comedic punch. Astounding funny Bharti Singh has won many awards with her stand up comedy & relevant shows. She is the most famous comedian on varies TV channels like; Comedy circus, comedy ka king Kaoun, The great Indian laughter challenge, Laughter knites, Laughter ka Panga, Comedy circus ka jadoo etc. She is not only female comedian but won the National Level Pistol Shooting award.
Chetan Rana will entertain with his versatile singing style as he is famous in many reality shows. Chetan became famous in his superb performance in "K for Kishor".
Kavita’s singing career reads like a fairy tale. Her exquisite, mellifluous voice, versatility to sing different styles and types of songs has put her in a unique place amongst Singers and she has been quoted as a “melody queen”. Her collaborations have been with artists over three generations. She has lent her voice to actress from Nutan, Helen, Shabana, Sridevi, Madhuri, Manisha, and Kajol to Karishma, Aishwarya, Kareena, and Rani Mukherjee.
“Maang Bharo Sajna” was her first Hindi film under Sri Laxmikant Pyarelal followed by “Pyar Jhukta Nahin”. Since then, she has sung for many more films like Mr. India, Karma, Saudagar, Khuda Gawah, Chaalbaaz, 1942 – A Love Story, Yaarana, Mohara, Bombay, Saaz, Khamoshi, Pardesh, Bhairavi, Agnisakshi, Prem Agan, Kuch Kuch Hota Hai, Bade Miyan Chhote Miyan, Wajood, Hum Dil de Chuke Sanam, Taal, Hum Saath Saath Hain, Vaastav, Khoobsurat, Pukar, Dil Chahta Hai, Devdas, Jeena Sirf Tere Liye, The Rising, etc. Many of her songs have gone platinum.
Her voice has reached millions of people touching their hearts as she has sung in almost all the Indian languages. She has also sung for several Nepalese and Bangladeshi films. Kavita has also sung in English and recorded with the famous Hollywood star Steven Seagal.
Her non-filmi albums are "Koi Akela Kahan", "Meera ka Ram", Pop Time, Shagufthagi, "Devotional Melodies" and Athens among others.
Kavita has received several awards and honours including the coveted “Padmashree” from the president of India, A P J Abdul Kalam in 2005. She won three consecutive Filmfare awards in 1995 for the film “1942 – A Love Story”, in 1996 for the film “Yaarana” and in 1997 for “Khamoshi”. The 1997 Screen Award for“Khamoshi” and the 1998 Sansui Viewers Choice Award too were won by her. She won the 1999 Screen Videocon Award & 1999 Lux Zee Cine Award for “Hum Dil de Chuke Sanam”.
