Qatar: Third Anniversary of the Our Lady of Rosary Church celebrated

Doha, 23 March 2011: Our Lady of Rosary Church, Doha Qatar, celebrated 3rd Anniversary recently. At 05.00 pm Apostolic Nuncio Archbishop Petar Rajic officiated the Pontifical Solemn Mass together with Rev. Fr. Peter M. – Parish Priest, Rev. Fr. Anand Castelino – Spiritual Director of Konkani Community and all the other Resident Priests.

 

 

 

 

 

 

Parishioners gathered at the church in huge numbers for this solemn occasion. After the mass, there were cultural programs at the church hall. Singing and dance programs were presented by various communities which portrayed their cultures and entertained the audience.
 

Church of Our Lady of Rosary was inaugurated in 2008. In olden days the missionaries used to visit the Christian communities of Qatar. A permanent presence began with Fr. Adriano Benini in December 1970. Masses were conducted in temporary places until the new church was built in 2008.
