Dubai : Kannada translation of Quran released

Dubai, May 15, 2013 : The Third Edition of the Kannada version of the Holy Quran  translated by Abdussalam Puttige, Chief Editor of Vartha Bharathi Kannada daily, was released at  Movenpick Hotel, Dubai  recently.

 

 

 

 

 

 

The function was held under the aegis of  Islamic Affairs and Charitable Activities Department, Government of Dubai. The main objective behind the translation is to disseminate the message of Quran to many Kannadigas who are interested to  know about the holy book of Islam.

Dr Omar Mohammad Al Khateeb, Assistant Director, Islamic Affairs and Charitable Activities Department, Government of Dubai and  M K Lokesh, Ambassador of India in UAE  were the chief guests.

Fr Alfred John Pinto, Parish Priest of Kinnigoli,  Shodhan Prasad, Convener of Nama Tuluveru UAE, Abdussalam Puthige, translator of Quran, Syed Khalil, Herman Lewis from Radio Spice, L V Puthran from Puthran Chartered Accountants, Shareef, Chairman of Khushi Group of Companies, and other leaders of various Kannada Associations and Community Organisations in the UAE were present.
