Karnataka Sangha Abu Dhabi celebrates Rajyotsava

Abu Dhabi, Nov 4, 2013 : A variety of programmes were organised by the Karnataka Sangha Abu Dhabi to mark Karnataka Rajyotsava celebrations at the Indian Social Centre Auditorium here on November 1. Kannadigas from all over Abu Dhabi  participated in the event and  ascertained their solidarity for the cause of Kannada. The event was sponsored by In-Land Builders, Mangalore.

 

Dr. B.R. Shetty, entrepreneur and Chairman of UAE Exchange, inaugurated the programme.MV Lokesh, Indian Ambassador to UAE and Siraj Ahmed, Managing Director of In-Land Builders, Mangalore, were present as chief guests.

Speaking on the occasion, MV Lokesh said Rajyotsava celebrations  promote unity and harmony among Kannadigas. Ambassador MV Lokesh who has been transferred as Indian Ambassador to Switzerland was also accorded a warm farewell on the occasion.

CR Shetty, former president of Karnataka Sangha, Dubai was conferred Da.Ra. Bendre Award  on the occasion. Siraj Ahmed, Managing Director of In-Land Builders was also felicitated for sponsoring the programme. Meritorious students were also honoured.

A variety of cultural events marked  the occasion.
