Muscat : Bunts Koodukatta receives overwhelming response

Muscat, Nov 26, 2013 :  Bunts Koodukatta, the annual mega event of Oman Bunts Community was held  at the  Grand Hall, Hotel Al Falaj, Muscat, in the presence of a  large number of Bunt Community members. 

Supriya P Alva, an organizing committee member, welcomed the guests and the gathering.
A variety of entertainment programmes  by children and adults including  musical event, dance, skits and fashion show kept the audience glued to their chairs. Dances were choreographed by Deepa Kiran Shetty, Rama Rajashekar Shetty, Roopa Chidambara Shetty, Pranali Mahesh Shetty and Rakshitha Ramanand Shetty.

 

Fun games like fruit game, lucky child, tailing the monkey etc also saw enthusiastic participation. There was also bachelor game, couple game and tug of war for men and women.

There was even a Yakshagana show ‘Bhasmasura Mohini’ which left the audience spell bound through superb performances of  talented artistes. The Yakshagana was directed by Chandrashekhar Shetty who even donned the role of Bhasmasura. Other artistes were Rajendra Shetty, Umesh Shetty, Rakshitha Shetty, Deepakiran Shetty, Sai Swaroop, Pranali Shetty and Akshara Shetty.

 Chandraprabha S Shetty, spoke about the evolution of Bunts Koodukatta in 1989 and its successful conduct since the past several years. She said the event fostered unity and harmony among the members of the community

The audiences were treated with breakfast, buffet lunch, evening snacks, tea/coffee and th  traditional ganji dinner and chutney.

The event ended with a raffle draw and winners walked away with an LED TV and a touch screen laptop.

Radhika Shetty proposed the vote of thanks on behalf of the Organising Committee. Shankara T Shetty  anchored the event successfully.
