‘Oppose central job exams in Hindi, English’: Karnataka Chief Minister

Bengaluru, Nov 01, 2023: Karnataka Chief Minister Siddaramaiah on Wednesday wished the people of the state on it’s 50th formation day. The state was renamed as Karnataka on November 1, 1953.

While addressing people on the occasion of Karnataka Rajyotsava (Karnataka formation day), Siddaramiah said, "We will have to oppose the Centre holding competitive exams for jobs in Hindi or English."

Mentioning that he would once against write a letter to Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Siddaramaiah said, "Exams should be held in the language our children know."

On the eve of Karnataka Rajyotsava, the Chief Minister took to X (formerly Twitter), saying, "In 2018, Karnataka proudly presented its state flag, celebrating our rich heritage and unity.

"Yet, the Union Government denied its official recognition. Where’s the acknowledgement for Karnataka’s identity, dear Prime Minister?" Siddaramaiah questioned.
