11-yr-old allegedly raped by senior, 3 others in Hisar school toilet

Hisar, Nov 10, 2016: An 11-year-old Class 6 student was allegedly raped by four boys, one of them her senior, in the toilet of a private school in Hisar, police have said.

A case of gang rape was registered against the Class 10 student and three unidentified people after the girl’s family reported the matter to police on Wednesday. No arrests have been made.

The family said the girl was raped by a senior and three other boys, who she couldn’t identify, in the school toilet on October 14, investigation officer Sheela Rani said. The accused told her not to report the matter or they would kill her, the officer said.

Concerned over rise in crimes committed by minors, Parliament in December 2015 passed a law that allows 16-year-olds to be tried as adults for heinous offences such as rape and murder.
