Bengaluru, March 4, 2025: As many as 12,533 students were absent across the state on Day 2 of the II PU exam held for Maths on Monday.

No malpractice cases were reported from any of the centres. According to officials, malpractice was prevented because of the web streaming of the exams, implemented from the 2024 exams.

Officials said that the rise in number of absentees was mainly because of three exams. "As there is a provision for students to appear for two more exams if the students are not confident of their preparation, they will skip the exams," said an official.

The highest number of absentees were reported from Bengaluru South at 1,510, followed by Raichur1,058 and Vijayapura 1,010.

Least absentees were reported from Bengaluru Rural at 79, followed by Chamarajanagar 80 and Hassan 119.

Students said the maths paper was not tough, but a few questions were a little tricky. "A few questions were very tricky and needed more time," said Chandan B R, a student.

Rohith K, another student, said, "Overall the paper was easy to score. Some one and two marks questions were very tricky and needed application of mind."
