New Delhi, Feb 22, 2022: In North Delhi district’s Narela area, a 14-year-old girl was allegedly gang-raped and murdered by two men. Her body was found in a closed shop in Narela industrial area on Saturday.
After interrogating 107 people and forming seven teams, the police managed to arrest one of the accused, Deputy Commissioner of Police (Outer-North) Brijendra Kumar Yadav was quoted as saying in a Times of India report.
On February 12, the 14-year-old girl went missing from her home. Her parents and brother initiated a search. But after three days of not being able to locate her, they lodged a complaint with the police.
The police conducted a search and then registered a kidnapping case.
On Saturday, the police received a call from a shopkeeper in Sannoth village in Narela industrial area. He informed the police that he had just returned from Jhansi after a few days and found that a foul smell was emanating from his shop.
A police team rushed to the spot and found a partially decomposed body of the missing girl under a pile of cow dung cakes in gunny bags in the shop.
The shopkeeper informed the police that two of his employees were missing. The police conducted a raid at the two employees’ homes but did not find them there. Later, one of the accused was nabbed in Sannoth on Monday while the other remains at large.Both of them are natives of Hardoi in Uttar Pradesh and live next to each other in Delhi.
According to the police, the accused lured the minor by offering to give her food. They were drinking alcohol when they saw her outside her home and called her, the police said. The two then sexually assaulted her, as per the police.
When the girl said she would inform her parents about the same, they allegedly strangled her with the clothes she was wearing.
The girl lived with her father, who works as a labourer, her mother and her brother in a room in Sannoth village in Delhi.
