16 people arrested for trying to burn alive cop during anti-encroachment drive in Hyderabad

Hyderabad, Dec 29, 2020:    The special team of Rachakonda police has arrested 16 land grabbers including four women for attacking and trying to burn alive Jawaharnagar Police Inspector Bikshapathi Rao last week.

The police team led by Bikshapathi Rao was attacked during an anti-encroachment drive at Jawaharnagar Municipality in Hyderabad.

Bikshapathi Rao was taken aback as the mob tried to kill him. They also blew chili powder on other officials who had gone to clear the government land of illegal encroachers.

They arrested 16 people include four women aged between 26 to 40 years.

The government officials had gone to remove illegal occupants from 1.20 acre of land at Jawaharnagar Municipality.
