16-year-old girl ’injected with aphrodisiacs’, raped for 8 years; 4 arrested

Mumbai, Jun 08, 2021:     A 16-year-old girl from Mumbai’s Andheri was kidnapped and allegedly injected with aphrodisiacs and raped for eight years. The police have arrested four people in the case.

 

The minor, a junior college student and daughter of a businessman, alleged that a man from the neighbourhood had been sexually assaulting her after forcing her to consume aphrodisiacs in the form of tablets and injection. She further claimed that the man’s wife knew about it. The couple, who has been arrested, denied the allegation.

The other two who have been nabbed are the teenager’s paternal uncle and his 19-year-old son. The cousin "got into a relationship" with the girl after his father had taken her to Uttar Pradesh to get her married and extract money from her family, the survivor said in her complaint.

According to a report by the Times of India, the local Amboli Police Station recovered a 27-page note which was purportedly written by the girl to her parents.

"The note written by the survivor narrates that she got addicted to the tablets. It also mentions that the neighbour threatened her by telling her that he had a video clip of the sexual act and started blackmailing her... She eventually went into depression," the report quoted a police official.

Based on a kidnap case filed by her father, the deputy commissioner of police Abhishek Trimukhe and his team consisting senior inspector Someshwar Kamte, inspector Abdul Rauf Shaikh travelled to Delhi and Uttar Pradesh and rescued the girl. Her uncle and cousin were arrested on Sunday.
