19-year-old dies after being pushed by trainer during disaster drill in Coimbatore

July 13, 2018: In a freak accident, a 19-year-old girl died when she jumped off the second floor of a building during a disaster preparedness drill organised at a private college on the outskirts of Coimbatore yesterday (July 12) evening.

 

Hailing from Alandurai village in Coimbatore district, Logeshwari was pursuing her Bachelor of Business Administration ( BBA) at Nagammal College of Arts and Science.

A video of the training session accessed by India Today clearly shows Logeshwari’s reluctance to jump off the second floor. She was nudged by the trainer and finally given a push. She hit the roof of the sunshade of the first floor and fell motionless on the ground. She was immediately rushed to the government hospital where she was pronounced dead.
