Hassan, Aug 07, 2021: Twenty-one nursing students who came in from Kerala tested Covid-positive in Karnataka’s Hassan district on Thursday. All 21 had enrolled in a private nursing college.
The students were in a lodge along with their primary contacts and it has been sealed by the district administration. Earlier, they were staying at a paying guest accommodation.
Primary contacts traced
Another 24 students have been traced as primary contacts and are being monitored.
They are enrolled in degree nursing college in Katihalli industrial area. All 21 infected students came to Hassan before July 26 to attend exams. They had furnished negative RT-PCR certificates upon arrival.
According to reports a district official said “On Tuesday, a student who showed Covid symptoms was subjected to RT-PCR test. It confirmed the infection and tests were then conducted on the remaining students in the PG. Most of those infected are asymptomatic."
The primary contacts are scheduled for RT-PCR tests on Friday and Saturday.
