New Delhi, Dec 11, 2020: India’s Covid-19 tally on Friday climbed over 9.7 million after 29,398 fresh cases were registered in the last 24 hours. The total active cases continued to remain under the 400,000-mark while nearly 9.3 million people have recovered till now, according to the Union health ministry’s dashboard.
Mumbai, Delhi and Kerala continue to add the most number of cases to the overall Covid-19 tally. Delhi has logged over 600,000 cases till now with a recovery rate of 95 per cent. Health minister Satyendar Jain on Thursday said that the third wave of coronavirus in the national capital is not over yet but was on the wane. He added there were over 13,000 beds available for infected patients in Delhi, which is ’not there in any city of the country’.
Meanwhile, as several countries have started applying for emergency use authorisation of vaccines to combat the disease, an advisory panel in the United States has endorsed widespread use of Pfizer’s vaccine.
