3 dead after multi-storey building collapses in Lucknow

Lucknow, Jan 24, 2023: Three people were killed and three injured after a five-storey building collapsed in Lucknow’s Wazir Hasan Road on Tuesday. Nearby buildings have developed cracks following the collapse.

 

"The building is believed to have collapsed suddenly. Three bodies have been found and sent to a hospital," said UP Deputy Chief Minister Brajesh Pathak. The injured were admitted to a civil hospital.

The NDRF, police and fire brigade personnel are present at the spot. A rescue operation is underway.

Advisor to the CM Yogi Adityanath, Avnish Awasthi, has reached the spot. As many as 15 family members were living in the building. Samajwadi Party (SP) leader Shahid Manzoor’s family also lived in the same structure.

Before the collapse, Congress leader Ameer Haider was reportedly present in the building.
