4 Dead, 9 injured in boundary wall collapse in Noida, more feared trapped

Noida, Sep 20, 2022: At least four workers were killed and nine were injured after an under construction wall collapsed in Noida Sector-21 on Tuesday morning. Several others are feared trapped under the debris.

The incident took place near Jalvayu Vihar in Noida Sector-21. The injured have been admitted to nearby hospitals.

The police, along with the locals, are carrying out rescue operations. Fire tenders and JCB machines were also called in to help in the rescue operations.

Briefing the media about the incident, Noida District Magistrate Suhas LY said the Noida authority had given contract for drainage repair work near Jal Vayu Vihar in Sector 21.

"We’ve been told when labourers were pulling out bricks, wall collapsed. It will be probed. We have received information of two deaths each at the district hospital and Kailash Hospital. It is being verified," Noida DM said.

Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath condoled the loss of lives in the incident. He directed the senior officers to reach the spot immediately and conduct relief work on war footing.
