Telangana, Oct 02, 2023: The National Investigation Agency (NIA) on Monday carried out searches at least 60 locations in the states of Andhra Pradesh and Telangana in connection with the Left Wing Extremism (LWE) case.
The raids are still underway in Prakasam, Rajahmundry and Srikakulam districts in Andhra Pradesh while another team of NIA is conducting searches in Hyderabad.
These raids come weeks after NIA conducted a series of raids in Telangana and Chhattisgarh in connection with a case involving the recovery of explosive materials and drones from the banned Communist Party of India (Maoist).
The residences of leaders of civil rights sympathizers who have links with Maoists are being searched. The raids are carried out at the houses of Duddu Venkatarao, who is a leader of the caste eradication struggle, Oru Srinivasa Rao, Nassar, a civil rights leader and several other leaders.
Besides, the NIA officials also searched the residence of Konala Lazar, an employee of Horlicks factory. Also, a prominent lawyer and human rights leader, Kranti Chaitanya’s, house was searched.
