7 dead in landslide triggered by heavy rainfall in Himachal Pradesh’s Sirmaur

Sirmaur, Sep 27, 2022: As many as seven people died in a landslide triggered by heavy rainfall in Himachal Pradesh’s Sirmaur district on Monday.

Five of the victims were family members. All the victims were buried alive in the landslide after incessant rainfall in the area.

Sirmaur has been receiving heavy to heavy rainfall since the last 3-4 days. The incessant rainfall in the district has resulted in a lot of damage.

Around 120 roads have been blocked in the state while 90 transformers have been damaged due to heavy rainfall.

People have been advised not to go out until necessary. They have been advised to avoid areas receiving heavy rainfall.

Landslides and flash floods have hit parts of Himachal Pradesh, Uttarakhand and northeastern states due to heavy rains, leaving roads blocked and people stranded.

Three people, including a woman, were feared dead after being washed away in a flash flood triggered by heavy rains in Himachal Pradesh’s Chamba district on Sunday, officials said.
