Actress Pooja Gandhi joins JDS

Bangalore, Jan 18 : Popular Kannada film actress Pooja Gandhi today formally joined JDS led by former prime minister H D Devegowda.

JDS senior leaders M C Nanaiah, Jyoti Reddy and party spokesman Y S V Datta welcomed the actress, who starred in blockbluster Kannada film ’Mungaru Male’, into the party.

"I have been doing lot of social service. I thought JDS will provide me a platform to continue it. Hence I have joined the party," Pooja told reporters here.

Meanwhile, JDS held a meeting of its top leaders at a private resort and debated on the strategies to be adopted for the assembly elections to be held next year.

The meeting was attended by Deve Gowda, his son, state unit President H D Kumaraswamy and others.
