Sajju, who received a divorce petition during the investigation and hasn’t seen her children in over two years, had shown immense courage by coming out in front of the media and standing up for what’s right.

HOW DID THIS HAPPEN?

According to a report in The News Minute, nearly two and a half years ago Litto, an employee, in Sobha’s husband’s office circulated a video on their office group, in which a young women could be seen deliberately changing clothes in front of the camera. Litto alleged that the woman in the video was Sobha.

Sobha then approached the Ernakulam South police station who referred her case to the cyber cell. The employee was then taken into custody by the police.

The cyber cell had told Sobha that she needs to come to the police station for investigation as they were sure that the woman in the video wasn’t her and that she had not been technologically morphed into the video either.

However, when her husband was called in for interrogation, he was convinced that the woman in the video was Sobha. Moreover, he sent a divorce petition to Sobha four days after the complaint.

Speaking to The News Minute Sobha said:

"“When I got the divorce petition, I was very confused,” says Sobha, “I thought, is everyone in the world like this? Even the police officers were saying to me, it is not you, so why is your husband saying it is? I asked myself if he was saying it purposely, had someone tricked him, or was his mental state causing him to say this? I had no idea.”"

WHAT DID THE FORENSIC REPORT SAY?

The video was sent to the forensic lab but the report proved to be inconclusive as it said that the women in the video bore “similarity” to Sobha.

The case was later transferred to the Centre for Development of Advanced Computing (CDAC), Thiruvananthapuram which came out with a conclusive report that the woman in the video is not Sobha.

IS THE LEGAL BATTLE OVER?

However, Sobha’s legal battle is far from over. Speaking to The News Minute, Sobha said, “All this time I was fighting to clear my name in this case. I couldn’t fight all the cases at the same time. So now I can turn my attention to fighting the case to get custody of my kids. Now that I have cleared my name, maybe that case can go smoothly.”
