New Delhi, Dec 23: The Central Bureau of Investigation today began questioning RSS leader Indresh Kumar on his alleged role in the 2007 Mecca Masjid and Ajmer blasts.
Before entering the CBI headquarters alongwith his friends and lawyer, Indresh Kumar blamed political conspiracy by some Congress leaders. Indresh Kumar said, some political leaders as part of their conspiracy were throwing mud at him and the RSS in connection with the blasts.
"I am an Indian national who believes in God, judiciary, constitution and the media. By blaming Hindu terrorists, these politicians have hurt the sentiments of millions of Hindus throughout the world", said the RSS leader before was led away inside the CBI office by his lawyer.
"I have said earlier that this is an imaginary story against him. I appeal to millions of Indians to stage peaceful protest against this atrocity, injustice and irreglious act (atyaachaar, anyaya aur adharma)", he said.
"I am innocent and will be proved innocent. I believe that such actions by the government will widen the path for the country to fight corruption and terrorism", Indresh Kumar said.
The CBI served had notice to the RSS leader on Tuesday under section 160 of the of the Criminal Procedure Code (CrPC).The bomb explosion inside Mecca Masjid during Friday prayers on May 18, 2007 had claimed nine lives.Indresh Kumar’s name also figured for his alleged involvement in 2007 Ajmer Blast case.
The Rajasthan Anti Terrorist Squad (ATS) chargesheeted for his alleged involvement in the blast. The Rajasthan ATS had claimed that Indresh Kumar attended a secret meeting to plan the Ajmer blast. This has been hotly denied by the RSS.
