Anant Bajaj only heir to Bajaj Electricals- dies of cardiac arrest

Mumbai, Aug 11, 2018 : Industrialist Anant Bajaj, the only son of Bajaj Electricals Chairman Shekhar Bajaj, died in Mumbai on Friday at 6 pm. He died due to cardiac arrest at an early age of 41.

His last rites took place at Chandanwadi crematorium in Kalbadevi at 10.30 am today (Saturday).

Anant Bajaj had taken over as the Managing Director (MD) of Bajaj Electricals in June 2018. Bajaj started his career as a company salesman in 1996 and gradually grew within the organisation, becoming Executive Director (ED) in 2006 and Joint Managing Director in March 2012.

Anant graduated from H R College, Mumbai and is an alumnus of SP Jain Institute of Management and Research, Mumbai. He had pursued Owner and President Management Program from Harvard Business School, USA, in 2013.

His multidimensional personality drew from interests as varied as music, sports, wildlife, nature conservation, travelling and information technology. He was a member of the Greenpeace organisation, as well as that of the Young Entrepreneur Wing of the Indian Merchant’s Chamber.

Among his several initiatives, Bajaj was responsible for setting up an integrated research and development facility under Bajaj Electricals for developing high-tech appliances, as well as a digital centre in Mumbai with emphasis on real-time monitoring, social listening and IoT (Internet of Things) analysis.

He was instrumental in setting up the world-class manufacturing facility for Highmast and Transmission Line Tower at Ranjangaon (Pune), which commenced operations in 2001.He was also on the Board of Directors of Starlite Lighting Ltd. and Hind Lamps Ltd.
