Ayodhya, Jan 29, 2024: Almost 19 lakh devotees have visited the newly inaugurated Ram Mandir in Ayodhya since its opening on January 22.

The temple, which opened its doors to the public on January 23 following the ’Pran Pratishtha’ (consecration) ceremony, has since been thronged by an estimated 18.75 lakh pilgrims eager to catch a glimpse of Lord Ram’s idol.

The first day alone saw a staggering 5 lakh visitors, and the numbers have remained consistently high, with daily visits averaging over 2 lakh.

Local authorities and the temple trust have worked tirelessly to manage the crowds and ensure a smooth experience for the worshippers. Measures have been taken to facilitate orderly queues and maintain safety standards amidst the large gatherings.

The temple complex stands tall with its traditional Nagara style architecture, featuring 392 pillars and 44 doors, all adorned with intricate carvings of Hindu deities. The sanctum sanctorum houses the idol of Ram Lalla.

In view of the huge rush of devotees, the temple administration has arranged for specific time slots for darshan to accommodate the visitors’ schedules, with ’aarti’ timings set for morning and evening.

The temple’s completion is anticipated by December 2024.
