Maharashtra, Oct 15, 2014: The voting for Haryana and Maharashtra Assembly elections 2014 began on Wednesday morning. With Maharashtra having never seen a four-cornered battle before, the collapse of the alliances may set off new dynamics. Polling was marred by rains in some parts of Vidarbha in Maharashtra. A policeman on election duty was killed after being struck by lightning in Avdeghat polling station of Savner constituency.

Six BJP workers have been injured in a clash with INLD members in Narnaund, Haryana

Minor incidents of clash between INLD and BJP workers were witnessed at Dighal polling booth this morning. However, both the sides were pacified with the intervention of security forces.

Till 9 am, 7.7 polling has taken place across Haryana. There are over 1.61 crore registered voters in Haryana.# Till 9 am, Kurukshetra assembly constituency recorded 13 per cent polls, followed by Yamunanagar (10 per cent).


Gurgaon and neighbouring assembly constituencies witnessed the lowest turnouts till 9 am.

Several stalwarts including Geeta Bhukkal, Gopal Kanda, Ashok Tanwar, Savitri Jindal, Capt Abhimanyu, Shruti Choudhary and her mother Kiran Choudhary, Naina Chautala, her sons Digvijay and Dushyant Chautala have cast their votes till now.
