"We would like to share with a heavy heart that our sweetheart NAMAN is no more. Our dreams of seeing him come home and turn into a young man are shattered. Our world has collapsed like a pack of cards. Gratitude for all your tweets and prayers," the family tweeted.

According to a report in Mumbai Mirror, Naman, who stayed in Vashi’s Archana Jyoti Cooperative Housing Society, with his parents, left home at about 10.30 pm. A CCTV footage showed him leaving the society at about 10.30 pm. The parents learnt about his disappearance only at about 1 am, when Naman’s father woke up to drink water and saw that Naman was not in his room.

The husband-wife duo searched the locality for Naman’s whereabouts and registered a missing person complaint at Vashi police station. The family also took to Twitter and social media platforms alike to circulate Naman’s photograph, along with a message that he had gone missing.

Citing a police official, Mirror reported that the family also received a call from a person in Nashik, who said that he had seen the boy, the police did not get any further leads.

According to the report, the police suspect it to be a case of suicide but have not arrived at any conclusion. The family had earlier told the police that Naman was an introvert and was also treated for depression.
