BJP tells Yeddyurappa to wait till Budget session is over

New Delhi, March 23: The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has asked former Karnataka chief minister BS Yeddurappa to hold on till the end of the Budget session. However, Karnataka Chief Minister Sadananda Gowda has dug in his heels, saying he’s not going anywhere and will remain the Chief Minister.

Yeddy to wait"There is no question of my resignation as there’ll be no change in leadership. The BJP High Command has given clear directions. LK Advani and Nitin Gadkari have assured me of no change," a confident Gowda said after returning to Bangalore.

But sources say Yeddyurappa will be reinstated as the Chief Minister as early as next month.

"There is no assurance from the party. The meeting was very good. I told them about the political situation in Karnataka. What position they give or not is immaterial, that’s on the leadership," Yeddyurappa said.

When asked if things will go smooth on the political front in Karnataka now, Yeddyurappa said, "We are going to give full co-operation to our Gowda."
