Bengaluru, Nov 11, 2023: Former Karnataka Chief Minister B S Yediyurappa’s son Vijayendra Yediyurappa was, on Friday, appointed as the president of the state’s BJP unit.
Vijayendra, who is an MLA from the Shikaripura constituency, replaces Nalin Kateel. He was the state vice president of BJP’s Karnataka unit.
The appointment comes six months after the Congress ousted the BJP government in the Karnataka Assembly polls with a landslide win.

A decision on appointing new leaders for the BJP in Karnataka had been delayed on account of the lack of a green signal from the highest level, including Prime Minister Narendra Modi, sources said.
Former Karnataka chief minister and BJP National Executive member B S Yediyurappa had, earlier this week, stated that he would urge the central leadership to appoint an LoP ahead of the Winter session of the state legislature.
