Bangalore, June 8, 2012: Bangaloreans may have to go without water for three days in a row from June 12 to 14 due to work on Cauvery IV Stage II Phase project.
The Bangalore Water Supply and Sewerage Board (BWSSB) has warned that distribution will be disrupted in the entire City. BWSSB plans to complete the work in 18 hours starting next Tuesday, but water supply will be hit . A board official said though the work will be taken up only after the City reservoirs are full, supply will be difficult. Consumers getting water on Tuesdays may get it on Thursday and those served on Wednesdays will get their quota on Friday.
The Karnataka Power Transmission Corporation will simultaneously take up linking of 220 kv transmission lines from TK Halli to Cauvery IV stage II phase, which may necessitate shutting down of pumping stations. Cauvery IV stage II phase is expected to augment supply by 500 MLD of water.
