Bengaluru: 2 dead in Kannada film stunt, they jumped from chopper into dam

Bengaluru, Nov 7, 2016:  Two Kannada actors are believed to have died after jumping from a helicopter into a river while shooting at dam in Tippagondanahalli around 35 km from capital Bengaluru.

The incident took place around 3 PM on Monday, November 7, 2016. No adequate safety measures seemed to have been taken during the shoot. They were performing a stunt for the film “Mastigudi” starring Duniya Vijay.

As part of the stunt, Vijay and two other actors, Anil and Uday had to jump into the lake from a helicopter, while Vijay swam to the shore, the duo did not surface.

Police sources say a criminal case may be made out against the filmmakers as there wasn’t enough security in place.
