Bengaluru, November 10, 2015: At least 39 persons, including 22 foreign nationals were arrested during a raid conducted on a rave party by Central Crime Branch (CCB) sleuths in east Bengaluru.
CCB officials raided a late-nigh party in Marathahalli area on Sunday night and arrested 22 foreigners alongwith the organisers. Police said during initial investigation, the foreign nationals were found to be without proper travel documents.
A senior police officer said that most of the foreign nationals who were apprehended were in India on student visa and overstayed. The foreigners are likely to be deported to their respective countries after all legalities are formalised.
Drugs, contraceptives and condoms were also found by the raiding party. Over 350 people were present in the party when the police reached the spot, Times of India reported. A woman constable was even assaulted by the arrested men during the raid.
"Invites to the party that began only after 11.30pm were sent on WhatsApp to different patrons. Based on a tipoff, we raided E Zone on Outer Ring Road in Marathahalli and detained over 35 persons, including the party organizers," the newspaper quoted Joint commissioner of police (CCB) M Chandrashekar, as saying.
