CBI raids Chidambaram, son’s residences

Chennai, May 16 2017 DHNS : Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) conducted raids at the residences of former Union minister and senior Congress leader P Chidambaram and his son Karthi Chidambaram in Chennai on Tuesday morning.

Raids in 14 other locations across Delhi, Noida and Mumbai are going on, various TV reports said.

The searches are in connection with alleged criminal misconduct in grant of FIPB approval. A police complaint had named Karthi Chidambaram as an accused in connection with foreign investment clearances to a media company.

"Should I stop writing against the government", P Chidambaram responded after raids. He also alleged the government is using CBI and other agencies to target his son and his friends.
