Ankola, July 21, 2024: Chief Minister Siddaramaiah visited Shirur in Ankola taluk, where a recent landslide left 10 people missing. Seven bodies have been recovered, with searches ongoing for the remaining three.

Despite heavy rainfall, the CM inspected the restoration work, accompanied by Revenue Minister Krishna Byre Gowda, Uttara Kannada District In-charge Minister Mankala Vaidya, MLA Satish Sail, and others.

The CM announced a compensation of Rs 5 lakh to the families of the deceased and assured that rescue operations, assisted by the army and navy, are ongoing. He denied any delay or negligence by the state government, emphasizing swift action following the disaster.
